About

Here to help you make sense of your health concerns.

Hi! I'm Dr. Juliana Mannella, a Naturopathic Doctor in British Columbia with a BSc. from SFU and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from CCNM-Boucher. I'm passionate about collaborative, patient-centered care that helps patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their health.

I use evidence-based medicine to identify and address the root causes of illness and develop individualized treatment plans aimed at creating lasting improvements in health, rather than simply managing symptoms. Treatments may include diagnostic testing, lifestyle counseling, nutritional therapy, herbal and nutraceutical supplementation, and, when appropriate, pharmaceuticals, injection therapies, and IV treatments. I have a particular interest in skin and women's health, though I welcome patients with all health concerns.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy staying active with my dog, playing soccer with longtime teammates, and spending time within the community. As a Burnaby Heights local, I value being connected to the neighbourhood I grew up in and am committed to supporting patients in building sustainable, long-term health.

Appointment length: An initial visit with an ND is typically 50 minutes, allowing time for a comprehensive discussion of health history, current concerns, and patient goals. Approach to care: NDs place emphasis on preventative care, as prevention is one of the six core principles of naturopathic medicine, with a focus on supporting long-term health and wellness. Treatment approach: Naturopathic treatments use a variety of evidence-informed therapies, starting with the most appropriate and least invasive option for the individual. Treatment plans may include lifestyle counselling, nutrition, botanical medicine, supplementation, IV/IM therapy, and pharmaceuticals when indicated. NDs work alongside MDs and other healthcare providers to support coordinated, comprehensive patient care.

A "Meet & Greet" is offered to new patients to get to know your doctor and discuss whether Naturopathic Medicine is a good fit for your needs. No medical advice or diagnosis is provided during this session.

Naturopathic Doctors complete a minimum of 7 years of post-secondary education. This includes a 3-4 year undergraduate degree with premedical science prerequisites, followed by a 4 year degree program at an accredited naturopathic medical school. In B.C., graduates must also complete two comprehensive Naturopathic Physician Licensing Examinations (after year two and four of study), as well as clinical competency assessments, in order to become licensed Naturopathic Doctors. To maintain licensure, NDs are required to complete continuing education credits each year, as outlined by the CCHPBC.
